Mascara
Mainstream mascaras can commonly cause irritation to the eyes, and often contain a cocktail of harmful chemical ingredients.
Try to avoid ingredients like Aluminium powder, parabens, polybutene, phthalates and dioxane, which have been linked to a varying number of negative side effects. Most mainstream mascaras also contain ingredients like diazolidinyl urea and similar preservatives that can release formaldehyde, coal tar colours, and synthetic colours and dyes - all of which you want to avoid on the sensitive eye area.
Instead, look for formulas that are 100% natural, vegan and cruelty-free. Our Vegan Mascaras contain the plant-based Carnauba Wax instead of Beeswax, as well as Sunflower Oil, Vitamin E and Sugar Cane to condition and protect the lashes. Eyeliner
Like mascara, we wear eyeliner around a very sensitive part of our face that gets irritated easily and can often react to chemicals. Standard eyeliners contain ingredients like parabens, coal tar colors (FD&C Yellow 5), talc, BHA & BHT (butylated hydroxyanisole & butylated hydroxytoluene, preservatives that may act as endocrine disruptors), and dimethicone (silicone). These ingredients have been known to cause irritation and disrupt our hormones through skin absorption.

Eyeshadow
Often, pressed Eyeshadows will contain additives and chemical binding agents used to compact them. Talc is also often used as a common filler ingredient which may contain the known carcinogen asbestos and is best avoided in cosmetic products. Our Eyeshadows only contain naturally-derived mineral pigments and nourishing, gentle ingredients like Cocoa Butter and Carnauba Wax.
